BEFORE/AFTER CARE

Before Care

  • Don't drink alcohol the night before

  • Do not drink excessive amounts of coffee before the appointment

  • Eat well before the appointment

  • Don't get sunburned

  • Make sure your skin is well moisturized (exfoliate a week before the appointment if necessary, and apply cream 2 days before the appointment).

  • Be well-rested

  • Wear dark, loose-fitting clothes that are easy to move around in. They should allow EASY access to the area to be tattooed. Clothing should not rub hard against the tattoo after the appointment. They should be comfortable during the session (avoid jeans and other stiff clothing!).

What to wear for your appointment (based on tattoo placement):

  • Sternum: Opt for a loose-fitting button-down shirt, open jacket, or cardigan for easy access.

  • Spine: A backless sweater or a jacket worn inside out (zipped in the back) provides access.

  • Groin: Choose loose, breathable fabrics like flowy shorts, swimsuit bottoms, or a wrap skirt.Ribs: A loose-fitting sweater allows access, and consider going braless for comfort (if appropriate).

  • Ankle: Ditch the boots and high tops! Low-cut shoes, sandals, or footwear that doesn't rub the ankle are ideal.

After Care

  1. Keep the protective film on for 3 to 4 days. Remove film immediately in case of skin reaction or pain (red skin, irritation, pimples, discomfort, etc.).

  2. Never remove the film dry, always in the shower. Run lukewarm water over the film for a few minutes, then pull the corners of the plastic outwards to enlarge the film and remove it GENTLY. The aim is to stretch the film: pull the top side up, the bottom side down, the left side to the left, and so on. Never tear the film, but pull it out slowly.

  3. Once the film has been removed, wash the tattoo gently with fragrance-free soap and rinse well.

  4. Leave the tattoo to air dry (or gently pat with a clean paper towel). Do not rub with a towel.

  5. When skin starts to feel dry and tight, or if necessary, apply a light, fragrance-free moisturizer. Do not use healing creams, such as Polysporin, or other creams with active agents, unless recommended by a health professional.

  6. NEVER scratch the tattoo during healing. Avoid abrasive or rough surfaces and fabrics during healing. Avoid tight-fitting clothing.

  7. Avoid swimming, bathing, saunas and direct sun exposure for a minimum of two weeks.

  8. Keep the tattoo clean at all times.

  9. Do not over-hydrate the skin.

  10. The healing period may vary

Failure to follow these instructions may PERMANENTLY harm the appearance of the tattoo. The tattoo artist is not responsible for the application of treatments. The customer must follow the instructions and contact a healthcare professional in the event of a problem.

If you experience a skin reaction or have any concerns, consult a healthcare professional.
